A 42-year-old boat owner admitted to charges of violent disorder after throwing a bottle at police officers during an anti-migrant protest in Portsmouth. The incident occurred on September 6 at Eastney Marina. Del Somerville, from Paulsgrove, was also recorded directing profane language at officers amid the unrest. According to testimony presented at the city’s magistrates court, Somerville was described as an active participant who displayed hostile and aggressive behavior towards law enforcement. He was scheduled to be sentenced on the day following the hearing.

In a separate case, a 46-year-old man pleaded guilty to terror-related offenses linked to incitement and hate speech. Ivan Jennings, of Stafford, was sentenced to five years and three months in prison by Leicester crown court. The court heard Jennings, a father of four, used multiple far-right Telegram groups to advocate violence against migrants. He also reportedly discussed plans involving poisoning Muslims and Jewish individuals using poisonous mushrooms. Jennings was connected to seven extremist online groups where he promoted his views and encouraged followers to engage in assaults.
