Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is expected to continue with Portugal’s national team despite recent concerns about his fitness. Fernandes was rested for Portugal’s 1-0 win over Norway on Sunday as a precaution, having featured for 89 minutes in the previous match against Wales. Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus expressed optimism that Fernandes will be available for their upcoming Nations League fixture against Denmark on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu is set to return to his club due to injury. Dorgu sustained a thigh injury during Denmark’s 2-0 victory over Wales on Sunday. The Denmark national team coach, Brian Riemer, confirmed that the player would be heading back to Manchester United for treatment.
In a separate development, Manchester United has bolstered their youth ranks with the acquisition of 16-year-old Isaac Konde from Liverpool. Konde featured for Liverpool’s under-18 side during the previous season and is now set to continue his development at Old Trafford.
