Progressive Professional Forum (PPF) Kuwait marked World Environment Day 2026 on June 12 by organizing a beach clean-up event at Mahboula Beach, bringing together members, their families, and community volunteers to promote environmental stewardship. The initiative, titled ENVIRO’26, involved participants collecting litter and plastic waste along the shoreline in an effort to protect Kuwait’s coastal environment.

The event saw active involvement from a diverse group of participants, including a notable number of children, underscoring the forum’s focus on fostering environmental awareness among younger generations. The clean-up drive’s efforts were recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which listed ENVIRO’26 on its official World Environment Day activity map, highlighting the local initiative as part of a global movement aimed at environmental responsibility.

PPF Kuwait acknowledged the assistance provided by the Keralite Medical Forum (KMF) Kuwait, with Mr. Sujeesh, Secretary of the KMF Abu Halifa Unit, attending the event to offer paramedical support and ensure participant safety.

At the conclusion of the event, PPF leadership—President Anil Kumar, General Secretary Bipin Punathil, and Treasurer Sreejith S Nair—commended the participants for their enthusiastic engagement and credited their collective efforts with the success of the clean-up. Program Convener Kiran Babu also addressed attendees, expressing appreciation for their weekend dedication to environmental protection.

The organization and coordination of the clean-up drive were led by PPF’s Unit Conveners and Executive Committee members, who facilitated the mobilization of participants. Through ENVIRO’26, PPF Kuwait reiterated its commitment to enhancing community participation in sustainable living practices and emphasized that lasting environmental progress stems from both collective action and individual responsibility. The forum called on the wider community to continue supporting initiatives aimed at creating a cleaner and healthier environment in the future.
