The Nashville Predators secured their first win of the 2026-2027 NHL season with a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Sunday at Bridgestone Arena. Steven Stamkos and Nils Hoglander each scored in the first period, providing Nashville with an early lead that held through the game’s final moments.
Predators goaltender Juuse Saros played a key role in the victory, stopping 29 shots overall, including 12 in the third period as Dallas mounted pressure in an attempt to even the score. The win came one day after Nashville’s season debut ended in a home loss to the Minnesota Wild.
For Dallas, defenseman Miro Heiskanen recorded the lone goal for the Stars in the second period, but the team was unable to find the equalizer. Goaltender Casey DeSmith made 24 saves but was denied what would have been the 100th win of his NHL career. The loss marked the Stars’ second straight setback to start their season.
The Predators improved to 1-1, while the Stars fell to 0-2 as the NHL season begins to unfold.
