Prescot Cables secured a 1-1 draw against Wythenshawe in a Division 1 West match on Sunday. Despite a promising start, Prescot struggled to create clear scoring opportunities early on, while Wythenshawe gradually grew into the game.

The visitors took the lead through Joel Mumbongo, who found the net via a fortunate deflection that sent the ball into the bottom right corner. Following the goal, Wythenshawe focused on maintaining their slim advantage, successfully withstanding early pressure from Prescot after halftime.

Prescot’s persistence paid off in the 73rd minute when Tom Scully scored to level the match. Wythenshawe pushed for a late winner, with one notable chance denied by a strong save from Prescot goalkeeper Tony Thompson. The match concluded with both teams sharing the points as neither side managed to find a decisive breakthrough.
