Sri Lanka’s annual Esala Perahera concluded on Thursday night with the final Randoli Perahera procession in Kandy. The event, held at the sacred Dalada Maligawa, drew tens of thousands of devotees and spectators who gathered to witness the vibrant cultural pageant.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake participated in the concluding ceremonies, visiting the Dalada Maligawa and meeting with the Mahanayake Theras in their temples, in accordance with traditional practices. Several government ministers were also present during the event.

The Esala Perahera is a significant religious and cultural festival in Sri Lanka, honoring the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha housed at the Dalada Maligawa. The final Randoli Perahera is the climax of the multi-day procession, featuring traditional dancers, drummers, decorated elephants, and various other cultural displays parading through the streets of Kandy.
