Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, held meetings with Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, and Ruth Porat, president and chief investment officer of Alphabet and Google, on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly session in New York on Tuesday.

During the meeting with Dr. Salam, the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation and ways to strengthen the relationship between Qatar and Lebanon. They also addressed recent developments in the Middle East, focusing on ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing regional tensions and promoting security and stability.

Separately, Sheikh Mohammed met with Ruth Porat to explore collaboration opportunities between Qatar and the technology sector. The discussions included exchanges on areas of mutual interest that could support Qatar’s economic diversification and innovation goals.

Both meetings reflect Qatar’s continued engagement with regional partners and key global stakeholders amid evolving geopolitical dynamics. The sessions underscored efforts to foster dialogue, enhance cooperation, and support ongoing diplomatic and economic initiatives in the region.
