The Prince of Wales inaugurated the “Ready Together” Disaster Preparedness Toolkit on Wednesday morning at the Archie Gooch Pavilion in Ilminster, Somerset. As the Patron of the National Emergencies Trust, he highlighted the importance of community resilience and readiness in the face of emergencies.

Following the launch event, the Prince met with members of the Ilminster Area Resilience Group on Silver Street to discuss local efforts in disaster preparedness and response. Later in the afternoon, he participated in a focused discussion on the topic at Sweet Surprise, a local café located at 23 Silver Street.

The day’s itinerary concluded with a visit to the Devon and Somerset Fire Service based in Ilminster, where the Prince observed operational activities and engaged with emergency service personnel.

The launch of the toolkit is part of a broader initiative aimed at equipping communities with practical resources to better anticipate, respond to, and recover from various types of disasters. The National Emergencies Trust promotes collaborative action designed to strengthen local resilience and support vulnerable populations during crises.
