The Prince of Wales met with actor and filmmaker Ross Kemp in Somerset to promote a new initiative with the National Emergencies Trust, a charity focused on supporting communities during crises. The event took place in Ilminster, where both men highlighted the importance of preparedness and collaboration in the face of emergencies.

Kemp, currently appearing in the second series of the BBC reality show Celebrity Traitors, joined the prince as part of the campaign’s efforts to raise awareness about the need for community resilience, particularly in areas prone to natural disasters. The show features Kemp and 20 other participants competing to win £100,000 for charity.

During the visit, Prince William showed a keen interest in Kemp’s role on the program, engaging with local youths and playfully promising to reveal the outcome of the show’s intrigue at a later date. “Do you watch The Traitors? I’m going to get the answer to what happens and I am going to tell you all later,” he said.

Kemp acknowledged the recent flooding issues experienced in the Somerset area and emphasized the value of cooperation among residents. “This campaign is about making sure that they can pull together in the case of an emergency,” he noted.

The collaboration between the prince, Kemp, and the National Emergencies Trust seeks to encourage communities to prepare for and respond effectively to emergencies, reinforcing local solidarity and support networks.
