The Princess of Wales expressed her anticipation of a family reunion as her children prepare to break for half term, revealing she has missed her eldest son, Prince George. Speaking during a surprise visit to a charity shop and cafe in Norfolk, Catherine shared that all three of her children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—will be home soon.
Prince George, 13, recently began boarding at Eton College and is returning home for his first extended holiday break, while Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, are concluding their term at Lambrook School. The princess noted that her parents will be spending time with the children during the half term, describing it as a valuable opportunity for family catch-up.
Catherine’s visit to Cafe 98, located within an East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) retail store in Hoveton, was kept under wraps due to the shop’s modest size. As a long-standing patron of EACH, the princess took the time to engage with volunteers and customers, sharing an informal conversation with locals and expressing her fondness for charity shopping. She recalled frequenting charity shops during her university years at St Andrews.
During the visit, she also helped volunteers inspect donated items for quality control, demonstrating her hands-on support for the charity’s retail operations. Earlier in the day, Catherine toured EACH’s Treehouse site in Ipswich, where care and support are provided to approximately 185 children, young people, and their families.
Separately, Prince William is scheduled to make a surprise appearance on a special edition of The Graham Norton Show focused on the Earthshot Prize. Filmed in secret, the episode features William alongside actress Cate Blanchett, Earthshot ambassador Robert Irwin, and host Hannah Waddingham, and will air on BBC One.
In the program, the prince emphasized the importance of combining urgency with optimism in addressing climate change. He highlighted the role of the Earthshot Prize in identifying and supporting global innovators, while noting that no single individual or initiative can resolve the climate crisis alone. The discussion also touched on William’s personal interests, including his support for Aston Villa football club and his appreciation of director Christopher Nolan’s work. This broadcast is part of the Earthshot Prize’s lead-up to its 2026 awards scheduled in Mumbai.
