The State of Qatar emphasized the critical importance of protecting its digital infrastructure as both a developmental and sovereign imperative during an event marking the conclusion of the National Cyber Security Training Programme. The gathering, held by the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), took place recently as part of ongoing efforts to enhance national cybersecurity capabilities in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Ahmed Mohammed Al Mutawa Al Hammadi, director general of the NCSA, outlined that safeguarding Qatar’s digital space underpins the stability of the economy, society, and essential services. He highlighted the role of the National Cyber Security Academy as a central platform for building cyber competencies and preparing the country for emerging challenges, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence. The Academy’s updated training roadmap aims to develop comprehensive skills and empower leaders and decision-makers to boost national cyber readiness.

The event, titled “From Adoption to Impact Creation,” also included recognition of excellence within the programme. NCSA President Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki honored the top six participating entities and the top six trainees to acknowledge their contributions and encourage a culture of achievement.

Dalal Abdulaziz Al Aqeedi, assistant director of the Cybersecurity Policies and Strategies Department at NCSA, noted that the Academy is set to roll out high-quality training initiatives for 2026. These programmes are designed around a clear strategic vision and an extensive training schedule to keep pace with the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape. Focus remains on delivering measurable results while building capacity both at individual and institutional levels.

Over the past year, the training programme witnessed significant growth, with 54,000 trainees benefiting from the courses and participation expanding to include 100 different entities. Additionally, 800 professional certifications were awarded to national talents, illustrating increasing confidence in the NCSA’s role in strengthening Qatar’s cyber capabilities.

The event featured a presentation of the NCSA’s planned cybersecurity training programmes for the upcoming year, alongside a visual showcase of key achievements to date. A keynote session detailed the development and outcomes of the training initiative, followed by an interactive Q&A that allowed attendees direct engagement with organisers.

Specialists from the Academy also held discussions with representatives from various entities and cybersecurity departments to facilitate inquiries and registration for diverse learning tracks, including opportunities for self-directed study. The programme enabled participants to arrange one-on-one consultations with experts, fostering closer collaboration, knowledge exchange, and alignment between training offerings and institutional requirements. These efforts are integral to the NCSA’s mission to build a qualified national workforce equipped to respond to evolving cyber threats and secure Qatar’s digital environment.
