The City Council of Parker, Texas, announced plans to hold public hearings on August 18, 2026, to discuss proposed adjustments to municipal boundaries involving land near Lucas Road and Lewis Lane in Collin County. The meetings will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Municipal Complex, located at 5700 E. Parker Road.

The hearings will address two key proposals: the disannexation of approximately 2.12 acres of land from Parker’s corporate limits and the annexation of roughly 7.49 acres previously disannexed by the City of Lucas. Both parcels involved in the boundary adjustments are situated within Collin County, with the disannexed territory on the south side of Lucas Road and the annexation area along Lewis Lane.

These proposals are part of a coordinated municipal boundary realignment between Parker and Lucas aimed at improving the efficiency of local governance. By realigning jurisdictional boundaries, officials intend to facilitate better administration of municipal services, including roadway maintenance and public safety, while promoting orderly governance across the affected areas.

The disannexation involves land currently within Parker’s limits that the city proposes to release to allow for annexation by Lucas. Meanwhile, the annexation would bring into Parker’s jurisdiction certain parcels that Lucas previously disannexed, under Ordinance No. 2026-06-01048, recorded in the official public records of Collin County.

The public hearings will provide an opportunity for residents and other stakeholders to present comments and concerns about both the proposed disannexation and annexation. Following the hearings, the Parker City Council may vote on ordinances to formalize the boundary changes.

For additional information, including detailed maps and legal descriptions of the territories involved, the public can consult the Office of the City Secretary at Parker City Hall during regular business hours.
