A public talk focused on local development was held at the Community Centre in Bahan Township, Yangon Region, at 10 a.m. yesterday. The event was jointly organized by the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) and other relevant local authorities.

The session commenced with opening remarks from U Kan Win, chairman of the Bahan Township Management and Administration Committee. IPRD Assistant Director Daw Aye Aye Khaing outlined the objectives of the gathering, emphasizing efforts to raise awareness and encourage community involvement in local development initiatives.

During the discussions, U Kan Win, who also serves as a representative in the Yangon Region Hluttaw, together with other township officials, detailed various departmental activities aimed at improving conditions within the township. These included the operation of waste collection services, initiatives to provide affordable rice and cooking oil to residents, and mechanisms for addressing community concerns through the regional Hluttaw.

Participants from local communities raised questions regarding products offered by the Cooperatives Department and inquired about plans for maintaining cleanliness and beautifying the township. Officials responded by providing clarifications and outlining ongoing and planned measures to address these issues.

The event brought together members of the Yangon Region Hluttaw, the Bahan Township Management and Administration Committee, various departmental officials, and residents, fostering dialogue between authorities and the public on local development priorities.
