The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi has highlighted Qatar’s role as a leading example in turning visionary ambitions into tangible global achievements. Speaking at a panel session titled "The Future of Investment in the Gulf," held during the ninth World Investment Forum 2026, Albudaiwi praised Qatar’s pioneering development experience and strategic planning efforts that have enabled the country to convert challenges into opportunities and foster sustainable success.

The forum, hosted by Qatar in partnership with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) under the theme "Investing in the Future," gathered ministers and senior officials from across the region. Albudaiwi used the platform to express his appreciation for Qatar’s ongoing contributions to fostering international economic and investment dialogue, as well as its efforts to enhance the GCC’s profile on both regional and global levels.

Emphasizing the openness of GCC member states to global markets, the Secretary-General noted the region’s move toward deeper economic integration. This movement is driven by a shared goal of developing long-term investment partnerships that benefit all parties involved. Albudaiwi stressed that the forum occurs against a backdrop of significant shifts in the global economy, including the restructuring of supply chains, the increasing importance of emerging technologies in shaping future economic landscapes, and heightened competition for foreign investment.

Overall, Albudaiwi’s remarks underscored Qatar’s model of combining clear vision, determination, and strategic foresight to achieve progress. The World Investment Forum in Doha provided a stage for dialogue on these themes amid ongoing transformations, reflecting the GCC’s commitment to positioning itself as a competitive and collaborative player in the international investment arena.
