Qatar Airways commenced operations to Port Sudan Airport on Thursday, marking a new chapter in the airline's expansion across Africa. The carrier will maintain a schedule of three weekly flights, operating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. These services aim to enhance travel options for passengers to and from Sudan by offering seamless connections through Hamad International Airport in Doha, which serves as Qatar Airways’ central hub.

The new route is part of Qatar Airways’ broader strategy to strengthen its presence on the African continent and improve connectivity between Sudan and more than 160 global destinations accessible via its Doha hub. The flights to Port Sudan will be operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 12 Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats, catering to a range of passenger preferences.

This expansion underscores Qatar Airways’ ongoing commitment to broadening its network and supporting regional mobility in Africa, allowing travelers greater access to international markets through its Doha hub. The launch of the Port Sudan service reflects efforts to boost economic and cultural ties between Qatar and Sudan, while also meeting growing demand for air travel in the region.
