Qatar Airways is set to expand its global network to more than 170 destinations during the 2026-2027 winter season, operating nearly 1,800 weekly flights in December. The expansion aims to enhance connectivity through Hamad International Airport in Doha, reinforcing the airline’s position as a major player in global aviation.
The winter schedule includes over 186 weekly flights across key regions including Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Frequency increases and service resumptions are planned across several markets to meet growing passenger demand. Notably, the airline will boost its presence in Africa with daily flights to Zanzibar resuming from October 25 and services to Seychelles increasing to seven weekly flights starting March 1, 2027. Flights to Johannesburg will rise from 14 to 18 weekly from December 2.
In the Asia Pacific region, Qatar Airways will increase flights to Phuket and Malé to 21 weekly from October 25. Services to Ho Chi Minh City will also grow, with 11 weekly flights beginning November 7, including the resumption of four direct flights between Doha and Ho Chi Minh City. The airline will maintain the existing Doha-Ho Chi Minh City-Phnom Penh route, providing passengers with additional travel flexibility. Kuala Lumpur will see 18 weekly flights starting October 25, supplemented by Malaysia Airlines’ 14 weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Doha. Additionally, daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne will resume from December 9, reconnecting Australia’s capital to Qatar Airways’ network. Flights to Melbourne will double to 14 weekly from the same date. Partnering with Virgin Australia, Qatar Airways will also increase flights from Australian cities to Doha, with Sydney flights increasing to 21 weekly, Brisbane restarting with three weekly flights, and Perth resuming four weekly flights starting December.
In North America, flights to Montréal will expand from five to seven weekly starting October 25, reflecting a 40 percent increase in capacity to meet rising travel demand from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East.
Qatar Airways will also strengthen its European network, with flights to London Heathrow increasing from 49 to 56 weekly services from October 25. In Germany, services to Frankfurt will rise from 18 to 21 weekly flights beginning December 7. The airline’s partnership with British Airways will further support London-Doha connectivity through daily codeshare flights.
The Middle East will see a 10 percent increase in daily flights during the winter schedule, including the resumption of services to four Saudi Arabian cities: Qassim starting October 25, Taif from October 31, Yanbu on January 2, 2027, and Tabuk from January 3. Each of these routes will be served twice weekly, bringing Qatar Airways’ total destinations in Saudi Arabia to 12, with over 155 weekly flights planned, marking an increase of more than 10 percent compared to the summer schedule.
Qatar Airways is also accelerating the rollout of high-speed inflight Wi-Fi through Starlink technology, with up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights operating daily on more than 150 widebody aircraft. This expansion of connectivity aims to enhance the passenger experience across its broad network.
Bookings for the 2026-2027 winter season are now open via Qatar Airways’ website and mobile app, with Privilege Club members eligible for benefits including inflight Starlink access and the ability to earn and redeem Avios points for upgrades and other services.
