Qatar and Djibouti have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in the areas of endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic affairs. The agreement was signed on Monday by Qatar’s Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem al-Ghanem, and Djibouti’s Minister of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Moumin Hassan Barreh.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between the two countries, focusing on expanding partnerships and sharing best practices in managing endowment operations. It also aims to foster joint initiatives and programs that support the promotion of Islamic values and community development.

According to officials, this agreement aligns with Qatar's strategic efforts to strengthen both regional and international partnerships within the sector of Islamic endowments and affairs. It complements the social and human development objectives outlined in Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which seeks sustainable development in various sectors including religious and social institutions.

The partnership reflects a mutual commitment to developing institutional capacities and facilitating sustainable collaboration that benefits both countries' Muslim communities.
