Qatar and the Republic of Naoero have formally established diplomatic relations following the signing of an agreement at the Permanent Mission of Qatar to the United Nations in New York. The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday, with Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, and Naoero’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Lara Erab Daniel, executing the agreement on behalf of their respective countries.

The two parties expressed their commitment to fostering mutual understanding and enhancing bilateral cooperation. Their efforts are grounded in the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter and international law, including the promotion of international peace and security, equality among states, and full respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
