The State of Qatar participated in the 19th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Unified Terrorist List Committee, held recently at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Qatari delegation was led by Brigadier Khalid Ali Al Kaabi, secretary of Qatar’s National Counter-Terrorism Committee.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration and coordination among GCC member states in counter-terrorism efforts. Delegates reviewed various agenda items aimed at improving regional security measures and agreed upon a series of recommendations to strengthen collective responses to terrorism threats.

The GCC Unified Terrorist List Committee plays a critical role in harmonizing member countries’ efforts by maintaining a shared database of designated individuals and entities linked to terrorist activities. This facilitates unified actions such as sanctions and travel bans, designed to disrupt terrorist networks across the Gulf region.

By participating in the session, Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to regional security initiatives and efforts to combat terrorism within the framework of the GCC. The gathering reflected ongoing cooperation among member states to address evolving security challenges through coordinated policies.
