Qatar has reaffirmed its support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at ensuring freedom of maritime navigation and fostering a comprehensive, lasting peace in the region, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani said on Tuesday. The statement was made during a meeting with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, who is currently visiting Doha.

During the discussions, the two officials reviewed bilateral cooperation and explored avenues to enhance ties between their countries. They also addressed recent regional developments, focusing on diplomatic efforts and coordinated measures designed to ease tensions and promote security and stability across the area.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Qatar’s commitment to backing all peaceful diplomatic endeavors that might lead to de-escalation of conflicts and the establishment of sustainable regional peace. Both Qatar and Singapore reiterated the importance of close collaboration to advance these objectives amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.

The meeting reflects Qatar’s ongoing role in regional diplomacy and its strategic partnerships aimed at achieving stability through dialogue and cooperation.
