Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber, held separate meetings on Monday with Ecuadorian and Indian representatives to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade relations.

At the Chamber’s headquarters, Sheikh Khalifa met with Alejandro Dávalos, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, accompanied by Carlos Zambrano, Chargé d’Affaires at the Ecuadorian Embassy in Qatar. Qatar Chamber officials present included Rashid bin Hamad Al-Athba, Second Vice Chairman; Mohamed bin Ahmed Al-Obaidli, Board Member; and Ali Bu Sharbak Al-Mansori, Acting General Manager. The discussions focused on current trade ties and potential areas for deeper cooperation between the private sectors of Qatar and Ecuador.

Both parties explored the possibility of organising a Qatar–Ecuador Business Meeting during the first quarter of 2027. The event aims to bring together business leaders and investors from both countries to identify key sectors and investment opportunities, with the goal of fostering stronger partnerships and joint ventures. Sheikh Khalifa highlighted the existing positive bilateral relations and emphasized Qatar Chamber’s commitment to facilitating closer cooperation and communication among business communities, which could lead to increased trade and investment flows.

In a separate engagement, Sheikh Khalifa also met with Dr. Wael Awad, Acting Secretary-General of the Arab-Indian Chamber of Commerce, to discuss enhancing economic and trade connections between Qatar and India. The conversation covered opportunities for partnership, investment, and collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries.

Dr. Awad extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber, along with Qatari business leaders and investors, to participate in the upcoming Indian Economic Forum scheduled for December 18–19, 2026. He described the forum as a valuable platform for networking and exploring cooperative ventures. Additionally, he encouraged Qatari investors to consider opportunities in India’s rapidly growing sectors, including agriculture, artificial intelligence, and tourism.

These meetings underscore Qatar Chamber’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international trade relationships and support the expansion of Qatar’s economic ties with emerging global markets.
