A delegation of Saudi business leaders visited Qatar this week as part of efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. The group, representing the Saudi side of the Qatari-Saudi Joint Business Council, toured key institutions in Doha to explore investment opportunities and incentives available in Qatar.

The delegation was led by Hamad bin Ali Al Shuwaier, chairman of the Saudi side of the council, and accompanied by Eng. Ali bin Abdul Latif Al-Misnad, a Qatar Chamber board member and chairman of the council’s follow-up committee on the Qatari side. They met with representatives from Qatar Development Bank and the Free Zones Authority during the visit.

At Qatar Development Bank, the delegation received detailed briefings on the institution’s financing programs and support services designed to foster private-sector growth and enhance competitiveness. The bank outlined its range of solutions aimed at helping businesses and projects secure funding and expand operations.

The visit also included a session at the Free Zones Authority, where the Saudi delegation was introduced to Qatar’s free zones ecosystem. Officials described the incentives, facilities, and services available to investors and companies interested in establishing or expanding their presence within Qatar’s free zones, which are designed to attract foreign investment and facilitate ease of doing business.

Eng. Ali Al-Misnad noted that the visit allowed the Saudi business representatives to gain a comprehensive understanding of Qatar’s business environment and the various incentives available to support investment and private-sector development. The exchange is part of ongoing cooperation between the two Gulf neighbors aimed at deepening economic integration and fostering mutually beneficial private-sector partnerships.
