Qatar Charity (QC) has launched its 2026 “Winter Heroes” campaign aimed at providing critical support to vulnerable families facing severe winter conditions and ongoing humanitarian crises worldwide. The initiative, announced in October ahead of the cold season, seeks to raise a total of QAR 120 million to fund winter relief efforts, humanitarian aid, development projects across multiple countries, and social welfare programs within Qatar.

The campaign was introduced at a press conference featuring Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, QC executive director of Communications and Community Impact; Aisha Abdulrazzaq AlKuwari, director of Humanitarian Operations; and Faisal Rashid al-Fehaida, executive director of the Alaraqboon Centre. Hejji highlighted the campaign’s broad definition of humanitarian heroism, extending beyond those affected by harsh winter weather to include donors, volunteers, and caregivers contributing to the alleviation of suffering.

AlKuwari outlined that the campaign’s international focus covers vulnerable populations in nations confronting natural disasters, protracted conflicts, and extreme winter temperatures. The targeted countries for aid include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Kosovo. The global relief segment aims to raise QAR 70 million through donor support.

Domestically, the Alaraqboon Centre plans to secure over QAR 50 million to fund various assistance programs within Qatar, encompassing health initiatives such as support for individuals with kidney failure and medical insurance for orphans. The campaign will also extend emergency aid to families facing extraordinary challenges like illness or loss of income. It is projected to benefit approximately 23,000 people in Qatar.

Qatar Charity has called on individuals, companies, and institutions within the country to contribute to the campaign, emphasizing that each donation can significantly impact families enduring cold weather and economic hardships. Contributions can be made through QC’s website and mobile application, at its branches and collection points across Qatar, or by contacting the Donor Service Centre.
