Qatar Charity (QC) has inaugurated four specialised workshops in Mali focused on the production of cotton thread, aiming to boost women’s economic empowerment and support sustainable livelihoods. The initiative benefits women from four cooperatives and forms part of QC’s broader strategy to harness local resources while providing stable income opportunities for families.

The workshops have been equipped with machinery and tools necessary to process cotton fibres and produce thread, an effort designed to add value to one of Mali’s key strategic crops. Cotton plays a significant role in the country’s economy, representing a vital source of income for thousands of families, particularly in rural areas facing ongoing economic challenges.

In addition to providing the physical tools for production, the project includes training for beneficiaries in workshop operation, production techniques, and workplace management.
