Qatar Charity (QC) has continued to implement education projects in the Gaza Strip throughout 2025 and 2026 despite ongoing challenges related to conflict and restrictions on humanitarian aid. These initiatives aim to sustain access to education and create safer learning environments for displaced and conflict-affected children.

During this period, approximately 24,000 students and education staff have benefited from QC’s programs, with upcoming projects expected to reach nearly 220,000 individuals. Completed efforts included distributing 9,631 fully equipped school bags containing stationery, providing clothing for 4,873 children, and delivering 2,055 learning packs designed as condensed alternatives to conventional textbooks covering both academic semesters.

The charity also supported temporary schools by providing 14,560 nutritious meals and outfitting 60 temporary classrooms with whiteboards and sanitation supplies. These interventions sought to address the immediate educational needs of children forced to study in displacement settings.

Currently underway is the “Back to the Classroom 2” project, which aims to distribute a total of 6,500 school bags, 6,500 learning packs, and 6,500 individual writing boards while equipping 60 classrooms with necessary supplies to improve the learning environment. To date, 500 school bags and 50 whiteboards have already been delivered.

In addition, QC is preparing to launch two further projects in October. The “Integrated Support for Schoolchildren” initiative is budgeted at approximately QR4.7 million and plans to provide 18,250 school bags with learning materials, distribute 40,000 school meals, and offer psychosocial support to around 8,000 children across Gaza’s governorates.

The second project, titled “Temporary Learning Environment,” carries an estimated budget near QR4.8 million. Its objectives include supplying 4,000 double desks, installing 80 drinking-water points with storage tanks, and constructing and equipping 160 temporary classrooms. These measures are intended to enhance the physical conditions in temporary schools and contribute to a more stable and secure educational setting.

Qatar Charity’s Education 2026 campaign, launched ahead of the new academic year, underscores the organization’s commitment to preserving the right to education for children and youth amid complex humanitarian circumstances in Gaza. The efforts reflect ongoing attempts by humanitarian actors to address educational disruptions caused by conflict and displacement in the region.
