The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) have formalized a new partnership aimed at enhancing talent development within Qatar’s financial sector. The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote closer cooperation in bridging the gap between academic education and practical industry skills.

The agreement outlines a collaborative framework designed to better prepare students and young professionals for careers in finance by combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. One of the key components of the MoU is the provision of internship opportunities by QFC to students from QFBA’s Northumbria University program. These internships are intended to offer practical exposure, allowing students to gain valuable industry insights and improve their employability prospects.

Beyond internship placements, the partnership will also facilitate a range of academic and professional activities, including lectures, seminars, workshops, and career fairs. These events aim to encourage ongoing interaction between financial institutions and academic programs, fostering a dynamic exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Additionally, the agreement commits both organizations to jointly support the Takween Excellence Award Programme. This initiative targets outstanding Qatari undergraduate students in fields critical to the nation’s financial growth and broader economic development. By recognizing and nurturing high-performing talent, the program seeks to contribute to building a skilled workforce aligned with Qatar’s long-term strategic goals.

The collaboration between QFC and QFBA underscores a shared commitment to developing human capital as Qatar continues to advance its position as a regional financial center. With the financial sector’s evolving demands, such partnerships are viewed as essential to ensuring that future professionals are equipped with both academic credentials and practical competencies.
