The Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) took part as a supporting sponsor in the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg: UNGA Special Edition 2026, held in New York ahead of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week. The event assembled heads of state, government officials, global chief executives, investors, and business leaders to discuss global growth, investment, and resilience under the theme “Growth on New Terms: Capital, Risk and Resilience.”
Leading the QFZ delegation was Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani, the authority’s Chief Executive Officer. During the forum, QFZ collaborated with Invest Qatar and the Qatar Financial Centre to co-host a dedicated Business Lounge. This space facilitated engagement between Qatar’s investment ecosystem and international business leaders and investors. It served as a platform to present Qatar’s broader investment opportunities, particularly emphasizing prospects within its free zones for companies interested in establishing or expanding operations locally and regionally.
QFZ’s participation included signing several strategic agreements aimed at localizing specialized manufacturing and service capabilities in the free zones. These agreements focus primarily on sectors such as energy, industrial development, and infrastructure, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. The partnerships seek to promote higher-value industrial activities, enhance domestic expertise, and encourage cross-border cooperation, innovation, and knowledge sharing. These initiatives are intended to advance a more competitive and globally integrated industrial environment in Qatar.
The authority’s involvement at the forum underscores its ongoing efforts to engage with global investors and industry leaders while supporting Qatar’s economic diversification and development goals.
