Qatar has developed an integrated system for organizing major events through enhanced cooperation and coordination among government entities, according to Jassim Abdulaziz al-Jassim, Acting Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) and Chief Executive Officer of the Local Organising Committee for Football Events. He outlined these developments during the second session of the third Leadership Innovation Forum 2026, held recently.
Al-Jassim emphasized that close communication with relevant stakeholders and ongoing discussions to address challenges have been instrumental in improving operational efficiency. This system, he explained, extends beyond a single organizing body, involving security agencies, regulatory authorities, and other institutions working collectively within a nationwide framework. Such integration has enabled Qatar to not only strengthen the exchange of experience and expertise but also to accelerate the planning and preparation process for major events.
Highlighting the progress made, al-Jassim noted that tasks that previously required months or even years can now be completed in a matter of weeks, due largely to accumulated knowledge and a clearer understanding of operational requirements. This streamlined approach has facilitated more agile and effective event management.
In addition to domestic preparations, Qatar has also advanced in training its personnel to participate in organizing international events. Al-Jassim pointed to the contributions of Qatari staff in security, civilian, and organizational roles during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as in major events hosted in the United States and Canada. This participation underscores the broadening scope of Qatar’s expertise and its growing role in international event management.
The developments reflect Qatar’s ongoing commitment to building sustainable infrastructure and operational capabilities to support major events, drawing on experience gained through both hosting and international collaboration.
