Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has joined a $380 million Series D funding round for Nearfield Instruments, a Dutch company specializing in advanced semiconductor 3D metrology and process control. The financing round, announced on Monday, was led by Fidelity Management and Research Company and included participation from Temasek, Walden Catalyst Ventures, Innovation Industries, M&G Investments, Invest-NL, TNO Ventures, and ING. The round values Nearfield Instruments at $1.6 billion and marks the largest deep-tech funding round ever recorded in the Netherlands.

The capital raised will support Nearfield Instruments’ efforts to accelerate its innovation development, establish global Applications Centers of Excellence, increase production capacity, enhance its worldwide customer support network, and deepen collaborative research and development partnerships with key semiconductor manufacturers.

Nearfield Instruments develops metrology and inspection solutions critical for controlling advanced semiconductor fabrication processes, improving yield outcomes, and ensuring manufacturability.
