Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced two new millionaires in the ninth edition of its Misk Account prize draw. Maryam Ali Abualshawarib and Maryam Ali Sharshani each won the grand prize of QR1 million in a draw conducted under the supervision of representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QIB officials.

This announcement marks the third set of millionaire winners in the current prize cycle, with six additional grand prize recipients to be revealed throughout the year. The ninth edition of the Misk Account campaign features the largest prize pool offered in Qatar to date, totaling QR26 million. In this cycle, 1,124 QIB customers stand a chance to win cash prizes.

A notable change this year is the doubling of the number of QR1 million grand prize winners from previous years, with 12 millionaires expected by the end of the cycle. The bank now holds millionaire draws every two months, selecting two winners simultaneously. Apart from the grand prizes, smaller awards continue to be distributed regularly: six customers receive QR50,000 each month, and 20 customers win QR10,000 weekly.

To be eligible for the QR1 million draw, customers must open a Misk account at least three months prior to the scheduled draw month and maintain a minimum monthly balance of QR10,000. For every additional QR10,000 held, customers gain extra chances to win.

Sharshani described her win as a surprising and timely event, highlighting the benefits of the Misk Account in helping clients grow their savings while providing attractive rewards. Meanwhile, Moftah Jassim al-Moftah accepted the prize on behalf of his wife and expressed appreciation for QIB’s continued initiatives that reward loyal customers.

Both winners encouraged others to open Misk accounts and take advantage of its savings incentives. QIB’s general manager of the Personal Banking Group, D Anand, emphasized that the increasing number of millionaire winners reflects the program’s success in fostering long-term saving habits among customers. “With double the number of millionaires this year, we are happy to continue offering our customers greater value and more life-changing opportunities,” he said.

The Misk Account can be opened easily via the QIB mobile app. Accounts come with a free debit card, eligibility to request a complimentary credit card for the first year based on the account balance, profit earnings on savings, and frequent chances to win cash prizes.
