Qatar and Kyrgyzstan have taken a significant step to enhance their economic ties by signing two cooperation agreements, including the establishment of a joint Qatari-Kyrgyz Business Council. The agreements were formalized at Qatar Chamber’s headquarters on October 25, 2026, during a meeting attended by senior officials from both sides.

The accords were signed by Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and Avazbek Kerimbaev, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan. The event also included the presence of Qatar Chamber Board Member Dr. Mohammed bin Jawhar Al Mohammed, Meerimbek Koichumanov, Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan, and HE Aibek Toktobolotov, Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Qatar.

The discussions between the delegations focused on deepening trade and economic cooperation, strengthening bilateral relations, and enhancing the role of the private sector in fostering joint investments. Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari highlighted the business council as a platform to promote dialogue and collaboration among business leaders from both countries. He emphasized the council’s role in sharing information related to trade, economic partnerships, and services and suggested the use of virtual meetings to explore investment opportunities across both markets.

Dr. Mohammed bin Jawhar Al Mohammed expressed Qatar’s private sector readiness to engage with international markets, noting a particular interest in expanding cooperation with Central Asia and Kyrgyzstan. He identified sectors such as solar energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and livestock as areas with strong potential for joint ventures.

On the Kyrgyz side, Avazbek Kerimbaev underscored the strong bilateral relations and expressed a commitment to bolstering economic cooperation, especially in construction and infrastructure development. He also pointed to Kyrgyzstan’s intent to increase exports of agricultural products to Qatar. Kerimbaev viewed the new agreements as instrumental in enhancing trade flows, increasing investment exchanges, and facilitating closer economic integration between the two countries.

The establishment of the joint business council and the cooperation agreement mark a strategic effort by Qatar and Kyrgyzstan to leverage private sector involvement for sustainable economic growth and diversified trade partnerships.
