Qatar Museums (QM) received six accolades at the International Sustainability Awards 2026, underscoring the institution’s dedication to environmental responsibility, social impact, and operational excellence. The awards were announced during a virtual ceremony held on June 11, which brought together organisations worldwide to recognise outstanding contributions to sustainability.

Qatar Museums earned two Gold Awards: one for Best Sustainability Team of the Year and another for Best Social Impact. In addition, the organisation received three Silver awards—two for Best Green Building, granted to the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) and the Fire Station respectively, and one for Sustainability Professional of the Year, awarded to Eng. Fahad al-Mana, director of the Project Management Office and Facilities Management Department at QM. The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) secured a Bronze award for Best Green Building.

The International Sustainability Awards evaluate entrants through a comprehensive two-stage process, assessing achievements across various dimensions of sustainable practice. Qatar Museums’ recognition reflects its strategic integration of sustainability principles into multiple operational facets, including cultural programming, community engagement, resource management, and long-term planning.

These honours highlight QM’s leadership in embedding sustainability within the cultural sector, positioning its institutions as exemplars in combining heritage preservation with environmental and social responsibility. The awards recognise both organisational performance and individual contributions, as demonstrated by Eng. Fahad al-Mana’s acknowledgement for professional excellence.
