Qatar participated in the opening video conference of the 22nd session of the League of Arab States’ Committee of the Follow Up on Ending Violence Against Children on Sunday. Represented by the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), the country emphasized its ongoing commitment to protecting children's rights and promoting their safety.

During the meeting, Nouf Ibrahim Al Abdullah, Assistant Director of the MSDF’s Family Development Department, outlined Qatar’s efforts in supporting child protection initiatives. She highlighted the importance of continued regional cooperation and coordination to establish safe and supportive environments for children, aiming to shield them from all forms of violence.

Al Abdullah also drew attention to Qatar’s role in fostering international peace and stability, citing the country’s involvement in conflict resolution through dialogue and mediation. She noted that such efforts are vital in alleviating the humanitarian impact of conflicts on vulnerable populations, especially children and families affected by violence and instability.

Reaffirming Qatar’s dedication to upholding children’s rights, dignity, and safety, Al Abdullah expressed support for measures addressing violence against children. She stressed the need for exchanging expertise and best practices among Arab states to strengthen child protection systems. Additionally, she voiced backing for the resolutions expected to be adopted during the committee’s session, which are designed to enhance collaborative efforts in safeguarding children across the region.

The participation of Qatar’s MSDF in the meeting reflects a broader commitment to improving child welfare and underscores the necessity of joint action among Arab countries to confront the challenges of violence against children. The session serves as a platform for reinforcing policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring the stability, security, and well-being of children throughout member states.
