The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center, operated by the Ministry of Culture, is participating in the Asian Stamp Exhibition scheduled to take place in Bandung, Indonesia, from August 27 to 31. The event is organized under the auspices of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP) and will also feature meetings of the federation’s Executive Committee.
Representing Qatar, the center is presenting five stamp exhibits, each previously recognized with medals at international competitions. These exhibits include Qatar’s first definitive stamps displayed across eight frames; Kuwait’s postal history, also in eight frames; Oman’s postal history within five frames; the postal history of the Yemeni city of Aden, showcased in five frames; and a collection of interned covers from World War II focusing on the United States and Switzerland.
As an active member of both the Federation Internationale de Philatelie (FIP) and FIAP, the Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center holds a seat on FIAP’s Executive Committee. The center is dedicated to supporting and advancing the fields of stamp and coin collecting by participating in international exhibitions organized by these governing bodies. Its mission includes promoting the hobby, providing developmental opportunities for collectors, and facilitating avenues for members to engage more deeply with philately and numismatics.
