The Qatar Photography Center (QPC), affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, is hosting a portrait photography workshop on Thursday aimed at enhancing the skills of photographers and promoting professional training in the field. The session is part of the center’s broader initiative to nurture local talent, attract international expertise, and stay current with evolving industry trends.
The workshop will be led by Cesar Parroco, an international photographer recognized for his work in portraiture. It seeks to provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of portrait photography, a genre widely regarded as one of the most commercially significant in the photography sector.
Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, director of the QPC, explained that the training will cover essential elements such as concept development, professional lighting techniques, and effective photoshoot management. Al Buainain emphasized that the program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, incorporating the use of professional studio settings.
In addition to technical instruction, the workshop includes collaboration with makeup artists, offering participants a holistic understanding of the various components involved in producing professional portrait photography. This practical approach aims to equip attendees with the skills needed to manage all aspects of a portrait session successfully.
