The fourth Qatar Real Estate Forum and the Cityscape Qatar exhibition concluded recently at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), reporting a significant surge in real estate sales that surpassed QR1 billion, doubling figures from the previous year. The three-day event attracted approximately 16,000 attendees, including industry experts, investors, developers, and policymakers, underscoring growing interest in Qatar’s real estate sector.

Organised by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat), the event showcased new development projects that reflect both the market’s expansion and developers’ focus on aligning offerings with investor demands and broader market needs. Highlighted during the forum were legislative and regulatory reforms introduced in Qatar, which have played a crucial role in improving market transparency and boosting investor confidence.

The forum served as a platform for open dialogue and knowledge exchange among regulators, developers, and investors, addressing key issues such as economic diversification and urban transformation within the region. Sessions explored the real estate sector’s strategic contribution to Qatar’s economic goals, while also examining future investment prospects for the Gulf region.

Alongside the main program, a range of activities engaged participants in discussions on innovation and expertise development. A Qatar University architecture competition featured prominently, showcasing designs by students for mixed-use buildings, emphasizing the role of emerging professionals in shaping the sector’s future landscape.

An innovation platform brought together representatives from the real estate industry and the Qatar Society of Engineers to explore the evolution of real estate portfolios beyond Qatar, as well as the future of housing supply and demand. Practical workshops offered hands-on learning opportunities, such as real estate valuation techniques and asset data management, designed to improve market oversight and regulatory compliance.

The platform concluded with a session on interpreting market indicators led by Mohammed Makki, Director of the Real Estate Investment Department at Aqarat, providing a comprehensive review of current trends from both regulatory and investment perspectives.

Overall, the event reinforced Qatar’s position as a leading real estate hub in the region, highlighting its regulatory experience, collaborative approach, and commitment to fostering a sustainable and investor-friendly real estate market.
