The fourth edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2026 commenced on October 27 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), in partnership with Cityscape Qatar. Organised by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) in collaboration with Informa Tharawat, the event runs through October 29 and gathers a broad spectrum of stakeholders including government officials, investors, developers, financial institutions, and industry experts from the real estate and technology sectors.

This year’s forum is themed “Stability as an Asset Class” and focuses on a comprehensive agenda that addresses the future trajectory of the real estate sector in Qatar and the wider region. Topics span investment, development, financing, technology, sustainability, urban planning, and quality of life, with an emphasis on the evolving landscape of cities. The event features more than 70 speakers and 60 exhibitors.

Mohammed bin Hassan al-Malki, president of Aqarat, highlighted the forum’s timing as critical amid ongoing efforts to develop Qatar’s real estate environment anchored in confidence and transparency. He described the forum as a platform for dialogue among government entities, investors, developers, and experts to exchange insights, showcase investment prospects, and foster partnerships aimed at the sector’s sustainable growth. Al-Malki also noted that hosting the event alongside Cityscape Qatar enhances international engagement and communication across the real estate ecosystem.

Mohammed Makki, Aqarat’s director of Real Estate Investment, outlined the forum’s three-day program, designed to respond to key investor concerns. The initial day addresses market stability and regulatory frameworks. The second day focuses on investment and financing options, including Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and digital asset tokenisation. The third day explores quality of life and the future of urban development, underlining the importance of stable markets and clear regulatory protocols.

Key subjects discussed include diversification of investment portfolios across residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties; real estate financing mechanisms; the application of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards; and the integration of artificial intelligence in urban planning. Sessions also examine the role of private capital in economic diversification, the enhancement of investor confidence, and Qatar’s positioning as an attractive destination to live, work, and invest.

On the opening day, participants engaged in sessions addressing regional real estate investment trends, regulatory developments within Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the relationship between real estate development and investor confidence. A keynote address highlighted the intrinsic link between quality of life and investment value, while another session focused on the changing dynamics of retail and hospitality sectors in Qatar.

Subsequent days feature discussions on property valuation, market data analysis, investment strategies for institutional and high-net-worth investors, and opportunities for new and small-scale investors. The emergence of digital asset tokenisation as an innovative investment avenue also receives dedicated attention.

The final day includes dialogues on health-centred real estate development, the impact of AI on urban living, and Qatar’s infrastructure essentials such as healthcare, education, and connectivity. Urban planning and long-term growth strategies are explored alongside new legislative developments, particularly the recently enacted Owners’ Associations Law, which aims to clarify property management and enhance stakeholder trust.

The forum complements its main stage presentations with an Innovation Stage, which offers interactive panels and live demonstrations focusing on market innovations. Additionally, a series of workshops provide hands-on learning opportunities and foster peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. Participants who register receive certification to support professional development.

Overall, the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2026 serves as a comprehensive venue for discussing strategic, regulatory, and practical dimensions of real estate development, underscoring Qatar’s commitment to fostering a transparent, stable, and forward-looking property market.
