The Qatar Stars League (QSL) convened its Ordinary General Assembly meeting on Thursday, gathering key figures including HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, QSL President; the league’s CEO Hani Taleb Ballan; members of the Executive Committee; presidents and representatives of club companies; as well as QSL Executive Directors.
In his opening remarks, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani extended his best wishes for success in the 2026-2027 football season and underscored the importance of ongoing cooperation between the QSL and member clubs. He highlighted the league’s commitment to advancing football development across all levels in Qatar and conveyed support for the national teams ahead of upcoming major tournaments, expressing hope that their performance will meet the country’s ambitions.
The meeting’s agenda, reviewed by CEO Hani Taleb Ballan, included the formal ratification of the Ordinary General Assembly meeting in accordance with QSL statutes, acceptance of the agenda, and the appointment of members responsible for recording and reviewing meeting minutes. Participants also approved the minutes from the previous General Assembly session held on June 2, 2025.
Further business entailed the presentation and approval of QSL’s audited financial statements for the past fiscal year, along with the independent auditor’s report. The assembly also considered and approved a proposal to amend the league’s statutes. During the proceedings, various inquiries and observations from members were addressed to ensure transparency and collaborative governance.
The Ordinary General Assembly meeting reaffirmed the QSL’s strategic focus on enhancing the professional league’s operations and supporting the broader development of football within Qatar as the country continues to prepare for the upcoming season and international competitions.
