Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has completed a two-day training program focused on the Madrid Protocol for international trademark registration. The sessions, organized by the Ministry’s Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department in collaboration with the GCC Intellectual Property Training Centre, were attended by several Ministry employees.

The program provided participants with detailed insights into the Madrid Protocol’s procedures, emphasizing the process of securing trademark protection internationally. It also covered practical elements of the registration system, aiming to enhance attendees’ expertise in managing intellectual property rights.

This initiative is part of a broader Ministry effort to strengthen cooperation with specialised organisations and improve staff competencies in intellectual property management. By advancing the skills of its personnel, Qatar seeks to reinforce its intellectual property protection framework, which is intended to boost the national economy’s competitiveness, foster diversification, and attract investment opportunities.
