Qatar participated in the 10th meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee at the Ministerial Level of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Economic and Development Affairs Authority, held recently in Manama, Bahrain. The gathering brought together representatives from the six GCC member states to discuss efforts aimed at enhancing economic integration and regional cooperation.

The Qatari delegation was led by Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at Qatar’s Ministry of Finance. During the meeting, officials reviewed a variety of economic and developmental topics of mutual interest, focusing on strategic plans and initiatives designed to advance integration among Gulf economies.

Participants assessed progress on implementing previous decisions and recommendations, emphasizing the importance of follow-up mechanisms to ensure that agreed priorities are translated into tangible outcomes. The committee also explored ways to strengthen economic collaboration across the GCC, supporting coordinated approaches to shared development goals.

Economic integration remains a central priority for the GCC states, particularly in the areas of policy coordination, development strategies, and initiatives geared toward promoting sustainable growth throughout the region. The discussions in Manama aimed to build on existing efforts and consider additional measures to reinforce collective action among the member countries.
