Qatar, through its National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), participated in the 11th Singapore International Cyber Week held from October 12 to 15. The event brought together cybersecurity professionals and government representatives to discuss emerging challenges and collaborative approaches within the field.
The Qatari delegation was led by NCSA Director-General Ahmed Mohamed al-Mutawa al-Hammadi, who contributed to a high-level panel titled “Algorithms and Alliances: Will AI Take Over Cyber Diplomacy?” The discussion addressed the impact of rapid technological advancements, particularly artificial intelligence, on global cybersecurity dynamics. Panelists examined the difficulties faced by developing nations in keeping pace with such developments and considered the responsibility of developed countries in helping to bridge these gaps.
In addition to his participation in the panel, al-Hammadi took part in visits to key regional cybersecurity institutions. These included the Interpol Global Complex for Innovation and the ASEAN Singapore Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, where he engaged with counterparts to explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Qatar’s involvement in this international forum underscores its ongoing efforts to enhance its cybersecurity capabilities and engage with global partners in addressing the evolving digital security landscape.
