Qatar and Tanzania have formalized a framework for enhanced political dialogue by signing a memorandum of understanding to establish regular consultations between their foreign ministries. The inaugural round of these political consultations took place on September 28, 2026, in Doha.

The Qatari delegation was led by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, while Tanzania’s delegation was headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba. During the discussions, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and explored opportunities to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries.

The consultations also addressed recent developments on regional and global fronts, emphasizing the importance of coordination and dialogue in navigating evolving international challenges. The establishment of this consultative mechanism aims to facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration on political, economic, and strategic matters of mutual interest.
