Qatar University (QU) announced it will host the Joud Charity Festival from September 6 to 10, aligning the event with the International Day of Charity. The festival aims to encourage a culture of philanthropy and generate financial support for the Joud Student Support Fund, which assists students facing economic challenges.

The fund, officially licensed by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in November 2023, collects donations and grants from both individuals and institutions. It provides financial aid to eligible students, covering tuition fees, housing costs, and laptop loans. This initiative is part of QU’s broader efforts to ensure sustainable funding for educational support and enhance student welfare.

Khulood al-Otaibi, director of QU’s Student Services Department, emphasized that the festival reflects the university’s commitment to inclusive education and sustainable assistance. She highlighted the importance of fostering community solidarity and underlined that financial difficulties should not impede academic achievement.

During the five-day event, attendees will have opportunities to engage in interactive activities designed to support the fund. The festival will also showcase student projects and initiatives that have been selected based on specific criteria, further promoting student involvement and innovation.
