The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2026 is taking place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center until October 3, bringing together more than 500 luxury brands from around the world alongside regional and Qatari designers. The event aims to reinforce Doha’s status as a premier global destination for high-end jewellery and watches, showcasing a blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and exclusivity.

A prominent feature of this year’s exhibition is the dedicated pavilion for Qatari designers, supported by Qatar Development Bank’s Scale 7 programme, which provides training, financing, and technical assistance to creative sectors including jewellery design. The pavilion has attracted significant attention from visitors, particularly those from Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), who praised the combination of traditional motifs with modern design elements.

Qatari designers at DJWE have highlighted their efforts to merge heritage with contemporary aesthetics. Shiekha bint Mohamed, owner of Alghla Jewellery, showcased pieces inspired by Qatar Vision 2030, incorporating symbols of deep-rooted traditions alongside modern innovation. Other sources of inspiration cited by designers include traditional Qatari costumes, pearls, local nature, and traditional geometric patterns.

For instance, Kaltham al-Majid of Kaltham’s Jewellery emphasized simplicity and elegance in her designs, often drawing from local flora and integrating custom Arabic calligraphy. Meanwhile, Jawaher al-Mannai, co-owner of Ghand Jewellery, introduced the Qumriya Collection, notable for incorporating real dove feathers—a unique approach that received authorization to highlight local wildlife conservation.

International participants also underscored the event’s significance for showcasing luxury and exclusivity. Tarang Aurura of India’s Amrapali noted that DJWE provides a platform to present one-of-a-kind creations designed exclusively for discerning collectors, a feature highly valued by the Qatari market. Similarly, the Prologue Pavilion offers handcrafted pieces influenced by wildlife, culture, and heritage, blending artistic expression with cultural themes in materials such as silver and wood.

Bahraini jewellery designer Mariam Nooruddin praised the exhibition for fostering creative exchange and advancing the role of technology in design. As a pioneer in applying artificial intelligence to jewellery creation, Nooruddin highlighted DJWE’s importance in connecting designers from Qatar, the wider Gulf region, and international markets. She acknowledged the sophistication and competitiveness of Qatari designers on the global stage.

Overall, DJWE 2026 demonstrates a dynamic interplay between tradition and modernity, while providing a significant platform for both regional talent and global luxury brands to access diverse audiences interested in innovative, exclusive jewellery and watch designs.
