The Qatari-Saudi Joint Business Council convened on Sunday to strengthen economic collaboration between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The meeting was co-chaired by Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, chairman of the Qatar Chamber, representing the Qatari side, and Hamad bin Ali Al Shuwaier, chairman of the Saudi side. Members from both countries attended the session.
The council focused on advancing economic integration by addressing key commercial and trade-related matters. Discussions centered on boosting bilateral trade, easing the establishment of businesses across their borders, and encouraging mutual investments. The role of the private sector was emphasized as critical to enhancing economic ties between the two nations.
Attendees also explored government investment initiatives involving public-private partnerships (PPP) in both countries. They identified priority sectors for investment and considered frameworks for cooperation on international projects. Additionally, the council aimed to create a fast-track mechanism to efficiently resolve challenges encountered by investors operating between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
