Qatar’s beach volleyball teams launched their campaign at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 with confident victories on Monday. Both the top-ranked team and their counterparts started strong, signaling the nation's competitive intent in the tournament.

The pair of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, widely regarded as Qatar’s premier beach volleyball duo, secured a decisive 2-0 win over the Philippines in the Group A match, which also includes Oman. They dominated the first set with a commanding 21-7 score, subsequently maintaining their momentum to close out the second set 21-10. Throughout the match, Younousse and Tijan demonstrated exceptional focus and skill in both offensive and defensive plays.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s second team, Mousa Al Khair and Mohamed Ihab, also opened their tournament with a straight-sets victory, defeating South Korea 21-13, 21-9. Al Khair and Ihab established control early in the first set and intensified their performance in the second, securing a convincing win that gives them a solid foundation moving forward in the competition.

These results highlight Qatar’s preparedness and determination in beach volleyball as the Asian Games continue. Both teams aim to build on their early success as they advance through the group stage and strive for podium finishes.
