Qatar's men’s artistic gymnastics team commenced their campaign at the 2026 Asian Games on Monday at the Nagoya General Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. In the men’s individual qualification on the rings apparatus, Rakan Misfer Al Harthi secured third place with a score of 13.900 points, while teammate Mehrdad Barat Ghadimi finished 14th, earning 13.400 points.

The gymnastics events are part of a broader schedule of competitions featuring the Qatari national team across various sports. On Tuesday, Qatar’s athletes will compete in volleyball, basketball, equestrianism, and fencing. The equestrian events, which were postponed on Monday due to unfavorable weather conditions, will resume, with Qatar seeking to uphold its strong performance tradition in the discipline.

In fencing, Qatari athletes will also take part as the tournaments progress. Meanwhile, the women’s volleyball and karate teams continue with placement matches at the Games.

Additionally, Qatar’s women’s 3x3 basketball team begins its group stage matches, facing Sri Lanka in their opening game before taking on China. The competition marks an important step for the squad as they aim to advance through the group rounds.

Qatar’s national e-sports contingent is also active in efootball, competing in Group A. Mohammed Al Ahmad will represent Qatar in efootball, with Hassan Al Qadi participating in the mobile efootball category. Rashid Al Awlan is set to compete in Gran Turismo 7, representing Qatar’s efforts to make an impact in the growing field of electronic sports at the Games.

The Asian Games, which bring together athletes from across the continent, serve as a significant platform for Qatar to showcase its developing sports programs ahead of future international competitions.
