Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) and Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) have formalized their partnership to support and organize the third edition of Relay for Life – Qatar 2026, scheduled to take place on Friday at the Aspire Olympic Hall. The collaboration builds on a history of cooperation between the two organizations, aiming to enhance public health initiatives and offer comprehensive support to individuals affected by cancer.

The agreement outlines joint responsibilities in managing both the organizational and logistical facets of the event, ensuring an inclusive environment for participants from diverse backgrounds. By pooling their resources and expertise, QCS and AZF intend to amplify the event’s humanitarian impact and promote cancer awareness within the community.

Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, chairman of Qatar Cancer Society, highlighted the partnership as an example of institutional collaboration translating social responsibility into impactful humanitarian efforts. He stressed that combating cancer requires more than medical treatment and healthcare services, emphasizing the importance of psychological and social support for patients and their families. Sheikh Dr Khalid described Relay for Life as an initiative that carries a message of hope, solidarity, and life celebration, thanking Aspire Zone Foundation for helping broaden community engagement.

Abdulla Nasser al-Naemi, acting chief executive officer of Aspire Zone Foundation, reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to its community role and national health initiatives. He cited the importance of early detection and prevention and pledged to utilize the foundation’s facilities and resources to support activities that positively affect quality of life and promote social responsibility.

The event is expected to bring together roughly 3,000 participants, including cancer patients, survivors, their families, representatives from various companies and institutions, and members of the public. Activities planned for the day include a symbolic community walk, interactive programming, family-oriented entertainment, and special commemorations recognizing stories of resilience and honoring those who have succumbed to cancer.
