Jassim Mohammed al-Mosallam, a 10-year-old student at Qatar Academy Msheireb (QAM), part of Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education (PUE) program, has been recognized with the Outstanding Student Award at the PUE Awards. His recognition follows his volunteer initiatives inspired by a story he wrote titled "Bisht Al Taer," which motivated him to put the values of kindness and community service into practice.
Rather than limiting his efforts to storytelling, Jassim actively engaged in various community projects alongside his classmates. His initiatives attracted interest from friends and family members who expressed enthusiasm to join in, highlighting the broader impact of his work beyond the classroom.
Reflecting on his achievement, Jassim said the award encourages him to continue striving academically and personally. He emphasized that being outstanding involves more than academic success; it requires dedication, kindness, and helping others. He expressed hope that this recognition marks the beginning of further accomplishments that will make his family, school, and country proud.
Jassim’s mother, Naila Ahmed al-Mosallam, described the award as a source of great pride that underscores her son’s ability to transform ideas into positive action. She noted that Jassim was influenced by his grandfather, who instilled values of kindness and responsibility from an early age. The family has supported his endeavors and appreciated the encouragement he received from school faculty.
Lina Mouchantaf, director of Qatar Academy Msheireb, highlighted that the achievements of students like Jassim reflect their ambition and determination to impact their communities positively. She stressed the school’s commitment to fostering individual talents, nurturing abilities, and building students’ confidence. According to Mouchantaf, the educational environment aims to develop creative, responsible citizens and future leaders by going beyond traditional academic instruction.
Jassim's journey from writing a story to becoming an active contributor to his community exemplifies the broader educational goals of Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, demonstrating how young students can translate ideas into meaningful and impactful actions.
