The Qatar Indian Authors Forum (QIAF) launched a book exhibition at the Ideal Indian School in Doha, featuring a range of works by Indian authors residing in Qatar. The event, held on October 30, coincided with the ongoing Kalanjali Youth Festival.
The exhibition was inaugurated jointly by Azam Khan, principal of Ideal Indian School, and Sakshi Dawar, undersecretary of India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Other key attendees included QIAF chairman Hussain Kadanamanna, president Dr. Sabu KC, general secretary Thanseem Kuttiyadi, and treasurer Ansar Aree Mrban, alongside other forum members. Lipsy Sabu, assistant headmistress of the school, was also present.
The collection on display comprises a diverse selection of books, including stories, novels, and research publications in both English and Malayalam. It features contributions from established Indian authors as well as emerging writers among the student community. The exhibition aims to foster closer connections between readers and authors by providing opportunities for visitors to explore the literary works and engage directly with the writers.
During the opening, Azam Khan expressed appreciation for the variety of titles and indicated his intention to revisit the exhibition. Dawar also commended the English-language selections showcased at the event.
The exhibition was open to the public from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and concluded on the same day. In addition to the book displays, visitors were invited to participate in literary activities such as storytelling sessions, poetry recitations, and interactive discussions. Admission to the event was offered free of charge.
